PERSONALISED SCHEMES OF LEARNING
Working as heads of Key Stage 3 and 5 in an outstanding secondary school (ranked by Ofsted), we possess a plethora of experience in developing resources that consistently deliver exceptional results.
We have designed our own schemes of learning for each key stage, with exam technique as a priority. This ensures that we cover all material required for the exams by exposing students to a variety of questions. This gives them the opportunity to make mistakes and identify their own misconceptions.
LESSON STRUCTURE
One hour isn't sufficient to cover enough material, hence why our lessons are two hours long. In each lesson we aim to:

Address any problems with homework

Teach the planned material for the week

Provide enough time for pupils to practice exam questions
Most centres will squeeze this into one hour which is not beneficial to students.
PERSONALISED HOMEWORK
Each lesson has its own designated homework to supplement the previous week's learning.
The main focus is on developing their mathematical skills and fluency, building resilience and applying knowledge across topics to exam questions.
ONLINE LEARNING
We use Microsoft Teams to conduct all of our lessons. It is where we will share homework, assessments and sometimes videos for students on a weekly basis. Students have tailored feedback on their assessments and comments on how to improve.
Pupil's have a unique opportunity to be in constant contact with their teacher and ask for help on problems in their homework throughout the week.
WE ARE QUALIFIED TEACHERS
We have a combined 12 years of teaching experience and a track record of successful results with a variety of children and abilities.
We are able to adapt our teaching to accommodate the different learning styles of students. We believe that providing students with variety allows them to choose the methods they like best.
EFFECTIVE USE OF TOPIC TESTS
At the end of each topic we will test the progress and understanding of your child.
Any mistakes made will be corrected through the use of DIRT (Directed Improvement and Reflection Time), which will address any misconceptions our pupils may have.
WE OFFER FURTHER MATHS
Further maths at A-Level is becoming increasingly desirable by top universities for subjects such as maths, economics, engineering, actuarial science, computer science and finance related degrees.
After a conversation with the UCL Mathematics admissions tutor, students with GCSE further maths and AS further maths are more likely to be offered a place than those who do not.
EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
We understand that mathematics is not just within the classroom. With enough interest we will host trips such as attending Friday lectures at UCL. This is a brilliant opportunity for students to experience what it is like to learn at university and gives them topics to talk about on their personal statement.
